Update - New Orders..
Today is a great day for Anna Grace! Here's the gist:
1. Dopamine ordered to be discontinued....no sounds of the PDA anymore.... The nurse made mention that most of the time it shuts on its own...and the standard therapy is Indocin(sp?) dosages. Evidently, Anna's wasn't too bad, b/c no Indocin was ever ordered. When they do Indocin, they'll do a max of 3 times, then wait till it closes. Definitely a good sign that she wasn't given Indocin in the first place.
2. She's up to 10mL of water every 6 hours. It's going right through her, and she's urinating well! Great news that it's not staying in her tummy. This is the first step to feeding her through the OG-tube with breast milk.
3. Her ventilator is turned down from 40 breaths per minute to 30 breaths per minute. This means she's breathing more on her own. The pressure on her vent is turned down to 16 from 18.
4. Her phototherapy is now discontinued for jaundice.
5. They're pulling the UVC line.
