On this day:

Unto us a child is born....

Changes:

1. Weight up to 3 lb 14 oz.

2. Bottlefed 20 CC, kept about 15 CC, didn't drop O2 sats....good news.

3. Stay tuned for bathnight #3.

Be sure and remember the reason for today. Many people (even believers) lose the reason for this day in the midst of all the food, presents, and festivities.

From Matthew 2:10-11
Sometime before Jesus was 2 years old, wisemen came to Him at the home He was at and gave three gifts: (gold, frankincense, and myrrh). These three gifts are symbolic.

1. Gold - represents Jesus' kingship forever. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. The wisemen knew this.

2. Frankincense - a dried gum from a tree that gives off a sweet smelling smoke when burnt. This is used in worship. The wisemen were coming to worship Him. Notice that they found the Child and His mother together, but came to worship the Child. He alone is worthy of worship. Many times we worship other things besides the very One who gave Himself. We find sometimes that we worship our families, our houses, things, money, time, even ourselves instead of worshiping Him.

3. Myrrh - This is a balm used to anoint the dead. Jesus was born to die. The wisemen somehow knew this as well. Without the cross, the manger story would be about 'just another baby'.

The thing that's interesting is that these are not normal baby gifts. These gifts are very special to the Christ child.

It would be a tragedy indeed if we don't acknowledge the true Gift for this day to all men. Please spend a moment today in true worship of the Christ child. Give the best gift back to Him that you could possibly give: yourself. Praise Him for the fact that He did not remain in the manger, but went to the cross for you and for me. And praise Him most of all that He did not stay in the grave, but through His victory over death, we have that same victory if we are in Christ.

Joh 17:3 "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

Merry Christmas!
-Allen
