Afternoon update..
Gracie liked seeing Meemaw there at the hospital...
Changes:
1. Breaths per minute are lowered to 20. They will continue lowering until around 8 bpm. This should be tomorrow A.M. She'll more than likely be extubated at that time, if all goes well. That's GREAT news.
2. Breast milk will be given around 4 PM today through her OG tube. (tube going into her tummy from her mouth). This will be her *first* feeding! Tomorrow when they extubate the vent tube, they'll more than likely take out the OG tube, and replace it with an NG tube (tube going into her tummy from her nose). This should be more comfortable for her.
Note: We're told by some friends that there may be issues down the road (in the next few weeks) for her to synchronize sucking, swallowing, and breathing. From what I understand, this is one of the last hurdles. She'll have to eat before she leaves.
Anna has many people praying for her. It is by the power of God and His will that she is getting better, and for that, we praise His name. For all who are praying for her, please take the time to also thank God for his infinite grace. Continue to pray for her health and growth.
Ps 95:1-6 Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, And the great King above all gods. In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also. The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.
