On this day:

DA DA DA

She's starting to say my name now! COOL..

The other day's posting scared quite a few folks that look at this 'blog on a regular basis. For that, I apologize. I should have made it abundantly clear that the febrile seizure that Gracie had is harmless, at least in what the doctor said and any research you do on the 'Net will tell you.

I really don't know how many people actually still view this page, as the hit counter on this page only counts unique IP addresses/browsers that visit. In other words, you can close your browser, and then open it again, and the counter will remain the same. Only when your Internet provider (such as Bellsouth) issues a new address, or you open another browser program will it increment the counter. This allows for a not-so-inflated number for unique visitors.

The seizure scared us out of our minds, and Em and Tan were traumatized, but if it happens again, we will know what it is. Praise God that everything's fine. Both Em and Tan were in tears, but they were both praying to the Lord for their sister. I thank God that they know Who to turn to in times of trouble. He is the Mighty Physician.

Christmas in July

Aim recently puchased a Christmas outfit at a good price, but it won't fit her at Christmas time, so we decided to take some pics early this year...

Gracie's not good at being 'IT' in this game, but she's caught on rather quickly on the 'hiding out' part.

On this day:

A bad scare....

Yesterday, Gracie stopped breathing on us. For about 5 minutes she had some very labored breathing (like an obstruction was in her throat). We felt on her, and found that she was stiff as a board.

We called 911 and while they were en route, she stopped breathing altogether for a very brief time, and her eyes rolled to the back of her head. When the medics arrived, she had come around. (Aimee had breathed for her 3 breaths or so..) Afterward, she was very lethargic and confused looking.

Upon arriving at the ER, it was found that she had a temp of 101.3F. With a full lab workup and an overnight stay, the attending pediatrician diagnosed her with having a Febrile Seizure.

Praise God that they are not harmful, and no adverse neurological deficits are likely to occur with these types of seizures. Nor will she be placed on any anti-convulsants for now.

Updates

1. Wednesday night, Anna Grace got her first haircut. I trimmed the thin baby hair at the base of her neck to be even with the new growth. It looks better....fuller.

2. Yesterday was her second follow-up appointment with Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy. They were very impressed with the progress she is making. They expected that she MAY be rolling from belly to back and she has been rolling both ways for about a month now. The only thing they saw a potential problem with was her feet.....she is standing and stepping on her tippy toes. This is apparently common with preemies, but can lead to problems when she starts walking, so she has to wear high top shoes (esp. when playing in her exersaucer or johnny jump up) to prevent her from going on her toes and teach her to stand flat foot.

The Bodin's trip!

Here's a link to my brother-in-law's (and family's) blog of their on-going vacation in the Great West! Very interesting pictures. Kind of motivates me to do something like that!! Check their blog regularly, as many pictures go up daily.

It looks like it's got to be better than the 99 degree/high humidity of Louisiana/Texas (I think they're in Colorado now)!! Na-Na (who comments regularly at this blog) and her husband have pitched camp with them, as well.

Rubber Ducky, you're the one!

Gracie sees the 'ducky'...

...And ATTACKS!!!

(From Sesame Street)
Rubber Ducky, you're the one,
You make bathtime lots of fun,
Rubber Ducky, I'm awfully fond of you;

Woo woo be doo

Rubber Ducky, joy of joys,
When I squeeze you, you make noise!
Rubber Ducky, you're my very best friend, it's true!

Doo doo doo doo, doo doo

Every day when I
Make my way to the tubby
I find a little fella who's
Cute and yellow and chubby

Rub-a-dub-a-dubby!

Rubber Ducky, you're so fine
And I'm lucky that you're mine
Rubber ducky, I'm awfully fond of you.

Every day when I
Make my way to the tubby
I find a little fella who's
Cute and yellow and chubby

Rubber Ducky, you're so fine
And I'm lucky that you're mine
Rubber ducky, I'm awfully fond of -
Rubber ducky, I'd like a whole pond of -
Rubber ducky I'm awfully fond of you!

Doo doo, be doo

OK....that's enough now...

Loved the sing along. Was a nice start to the day. Brought back lots of memories of Sesame Street and Anna Grace's Mama when she was much younger. I can see that Gracie enjoys Rubber Ducky, too.
